CUBA - EVERYBODY TALKS ABOUT OUR PIZZA

If you've asked yourself what have we been doing this month in Cuba? well we've been travelling and working. Believe it or not. One day when we were walking through Trinidad looking for a bite to eat, we discovered a small Pizza joint. In our opinion, this place had the best tasting pizza we had tried so far, (trust us we've been eating a lot of pizza in Cuba, not because we don't like the local food, but because it's cheap). After a long long talk with the family that owned the business we suggested to them that we could help them obtain more foreign clients.
How?, The idea was simple, we created an outdoor poster where all the foreigners who tried the pizza and liked it could write and leave a message on it. you know what?, the idea worked, every foreigner that sampled the pizza started leaving messages and spreading the news, In exchange for our work, Cristobal stuffed menthol cigarettes in our mouths, coconut sweets down our throats, and few shots of hardcore rum. For the final touch, he cooked for us a real down to earth Cuban meal consisting of beans rice and picadillo (pork leftovers so to say). Honestlly the meal was amazing, and what was even more amazing was that this whole family which lived behind the pizza counter opened up their home to us giving us a place to sleep and eat for free. We finally had a good sample of real Cuban hospitality, an amazing experience which ended up in euphoric hugs and a few tears on our departure.
all in all an experience we shall never forget!
